Tama Library News

August 28, 2012
Toledo Chronicle, Tama News-Herald

Summer is almost over and the kids are back to school. Things will be quieting down around the library (until around 3:30 each day). I want to remind all our summer reading kids to stop at the library to pick up their free zoo passes to the Blank Park Zoo, and their card for a free Kids Meal from the Tama-Toledo Subway-YUM!

Our big winners this year were Joe Stanton, who won the 6 Adventureland Tickets and our guessing jar winners were Slade St. John and Cindy Nunez. The guessing jar prizes were Sci-fi activity kits and drawing and color books. We had a total of 126 children participate this year with a total attendance of 483. We had 23 volunteers, 9 were young adults and 10 were adults. A total of 39,000 minutes were read and logged. 665 books were earned as prizes for time read. Great job kids! "Like" us on facebook to see all the pictures taken with our new camera this summer. Next year's summer reading theme will be "Dig into Reading", and will be planned to start in June.

Our library lock-in was a lot of fun and the kids raised $314.00 to use for new kids books. The Wii was a hit. (I really like Wii bowling but Mario is too much for me.)
