Problems with alternate parking on Iuka Street and Sesame Drive in the Indian Hills Addition in Tama is resulting in tickets being issued.
Police will be strictly enforcing the 9 a.m. time change for vehicles to be moved to opposite sides of the street Mayor Dan Zimmerman told city council members Monday.
Police have issued tickets and towing of vehicle can occur, Zimmerman said.
Repeated instances of vehicles parked on both sides of the street at the same time have prevented a bus from accessing the streets. Zimmerman said it would be impossible for fire trucks or an ambulance to go trough in the event of an emergency.
In addition, snow plowing has been hampered by the parking violations.
