School bells will ring tomorrow (Aug. 16) at the Meskwaki Settlement School and on Wednesday, Aug. 22, at South Tama schools as the 2012-13 school year gets underway.
Classes start Thursday for students attending the Meskwaki Settlement School with a full day of classes.
South Tama students begin classes next Wednesday. South Tama staff members go back to school tomorrow for four days of professional development before school starts.
The STC?Trojan varsity football team will host Nevada High School in a season opener on Trojan Field in Toledo on Friday night. Aug. 24. Freshman take the field first at 4:45 p.m. followed by the varsity match up at 7 p.m.
The annual STC?Band Boosters Barbecue begins at 5 p.m. that night in the high school cafeteria.
The South Tama Varsity girls volleyball squad travels to the Grinnell Jamboree on Saturday, Aug. 18 to begin the season.
They will play host to Grinnell in a Trojan home meet opener on Tuesday, Aug. 28.
Meskwaki Warrior varsity football also gets underway on Aug. 24 with the team on the road at Wayne Community High School at Corydon.
Warrior varsity volleyball will host an eight-team tournament at Meskwaki High School beginning at 9 a.m. on Saturday, Aug. 25.
