Tama county burn ban is lifted

Tama County Emergency Management reported the burn ban in effect for Tama County was lifted on Monday, July 30 at 6 p.m.

The agency said in a new reeease: "This means the restrictions on open burning put in place by the 9 July 2012 burn ban will no longer be in effect.

"The Tama County Emergency Management Agency would like to encourage all residents to use all pertinent precautions if you do choose to burn. For information on safe burning please contact the Tama County Emergency Management Agency or your local Fire Chief.

"A burn ban can only be put in effect after a majority vote of the Tama County Fire Chief's and can only be lifted after a majority vote of the Tama County Fire Chiefs."
