Gertrude Alyce Timm, 93, of Tama, passed away Sunday, July 22, 2012, at the Iowa River Hospice Home in Marshalltown. Funeral Services will be held Friday, July 27, 2012, at 10:30 a.m. at St. John Lutheran Church in rural Tama with Pastor Kalen Barkholtz officiating. Interment will follow at Maple Grove Cemetery in rural Tama. Visitation will be held Thursday, July 26, 2012, from 5 8 p.m. at Kruse-Phillips Funeral Home in Tama.
Gertrude was born on Sep. 2, 1918, in rural Poweshiek County, the daughter of Glenn and Mary Elizabeth (Boyer) Clark.
She graduated from Toledo High School and attended college at State Teachers College in Cedar Falls.

On Oct. 5, 1939, she was united in marriage to Alfred Timm in rural Tama. She helped him on the farm. Gertrude was employed at the Montgomery catalog store in Tama for 10 years and was a bookkeeper for 25 years at the Tama Livestock Auction. She was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church in rural Tama where she was involved in circles and Ladies Aid. She was also a member of Farm Bureau, Eagles Auxiliary and she volunteered at the Clothes Closet. Gertrude was an excellent baker and enjoyed gardening.
Preceding her in death were her parents; her husband, Alfred in 1988; two daughters, Judith Ann Timm and Mary Kaloupek; two great-grandchildren, Luke and Ella Timm; one sister, Hazel Rockwood; and two brothers, Bernard and Gary Clark.
Survivors include three sons, David (Joleen) Timm and Alan (Beverly) Timm, both of Tama, and Chris Timm, Colo; two daughters, Janice (Randy) Huff, Tama, and Kathleen (Ed) Ohrt, Gladbrook; 19 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; nine great-great grandchildren; one sister, Mildred Devin of California; one brother, Calvin Clark of Ashton, Ill.; and many nieces and nephews.
A memorial fund has been established.
