As the healthcare needs of community members have changed over the past years, Carrinton Place of Toledo found it would be very beneficial to increase its weliness center to what it is today.
Two large rooms were converted into one. By adding new tiles and bright, fun colors, the atmosphere gives you a sense of motivation and enthusiasm.
We have a lot of community members who come to the nursing home for a short-term stay after having elective surgeries, strokes and other acute illnesses.
The new chapel at Carrington Place of Toledo will be dedicated on July 26 during an open house.
Carrington Place meets their physical needs by providing therapy to improve
their mobility to regain their independence and return to their home. It is a great feeling to have someone come through the doors in a wheelchair and, in a few short weeks, they leave walking.
For those residents who live here for many years, they also get enjoyment out of our wellness center. Many of them are on exercise programs to maintain their level of functioning and mobility. The extra space allows for more residents to utilize the space at the same time.
While expanding our wellness center to be able to meet the more demanding needs of the community members that stay here, Carrington Place also expanded the chapel. There is more to life then physical needs. There are spiritual needs, also.
The old chapel, whose space was over taken by the new wellness center, was relocated to a space that was not being utilized. Walls were moved to make the area larger, the breathtaking three panel stained glass window was relocated to the new area and the area came together as a very peaceful, tranquil place of worship.
When you think about going to the chapel for church services and other religious activities, you think of walking into a church that stands independent. And, that is what we have here at Carrington Place of Toledo. Our private chapel named, Chapel in the Garden, offers a quiet, serene setting for religious services and activities for all denominations.
Carrington Place of Toledo is hosting an open house on Thursday, July 26, form 2-4 p.m.. Everyone is welcomed to come see the new wellness center and chapel.
At 2:30 p.m., Father Mike Mescher from St. Patrick Church will be blessing the chapel. Refreshments will be served.
