Malcolm E. Mitchell (Ka-ka-mo-to), 62, Tama passed away on Monday, July 9, 2012, at Carrington Place of Toledo. Traditional Graveside Services will be held Tuesday, July 10, 2012 at 2 p.m. at Meskwaki Cemetery on the Meskwaki Settlement in rural Tama with Mike Keahna as speaker. A Traditional Wake will be held Monday evening, July 9, 2012 at the Native American Drum Society Ceremonial Building on the Meskwaki Settlement, rural Tama.`
Malcolm was born on January 23, 1950, on the Meskwaki Settlement in rural Tama, the son of Mamie Mitchell and Raymond Slick Sr.
He graduated from South Tama High School. Malcolm was formerly a security guard at the Meskwaki Bingo and Casino. He enjoyed playing at the Casino and watching sports. Malcolm also liked doing beadwork.

Preceding him in death were his parents; and four brothers, Mike, Marvin, Jimmy and Terry Mitchell.
Survivors include his brother, Keith Mitchell of Tama; his nieces, Melissa, Jennifer and Lucinda Mitchell all of Waterloo, and Twyla Kapayou of Toledo; his adopted mother, Liz Roberts of Tama; five adopted brothers, Troy Roberts, Adrian Pushetonequa, Ricky Keahna, Alex Walker, and Gilbert Brown all of Tama; one uncle, Ernie Roberts; and his adopted family.
