The Toledo Library has been a "cool" place to be this summer. The library staff held Duct Tape Tuesdays and Crafty Wednesdays in June in addition to Friday Story Time. I have learned that kids love Duct Tape! But, it can be challenging to work with We had some mishaps and some projects that got stuck together, but learned what NOT to do the next time. At the four programs, the kids created bracelets, beads, flower toppers for their pencils, pencil cases, wallets and coin purses; all turning out unique and usable items.
The group pictured above had the best time making their pencil cases with a real zipper. We did not even have time for snack!
Library Assistant Diane Nitz holds story time on Fridays at 11:00 for our smallest patrons. Diane provides music, dance, stories, a craft and sometimes she has a special guest. This group pictured below created a memorable bookmark for Father's Day. Diane had each child color their bookmark and she took the child's picture, then laminated it. What an amazing gift that had to be for those Dads.
