Tama County Supervisors Kendall Jordan and Dan Wilkens approved the appointment of Ray Silhanek, Tama, approved for the Tama County Zoning Administrator/Environmentalist position.. This is pending approval from the public health office. Supervisor Larry Vest was absent.
Bill Christensen is leaving at the end of this month.
Lorie Raymond, Garwin, Todd Sebesta and Karla Sebesta, both of Toledo, have been appointed to the Emergency Management/911 Board. All three have completed training and are certified for this position.
Tami Wise with Central Point of Coordination asked supervisors to approve the use of a Corporate credit card for new accounts. This would allow their office to control all spending and have receipts for each expenditure. Much thought has been put into this system. Wise says she will use the US Bank of Marshalltown for the Credit Cards as local banks do not do this type of credit card. There is no charge for the system and will simplify Wise's work as well as furnish documentation for every expenditure.
The CPC office was also given permission to start looking for a replacement car for the Case Management to use. The present one is needing a great deal of repair and is of high mileage.
County Engineer Lyle Brehm says he is working to solve the problem of dust control , He is working with the Quarry to have their trucks go to Highway 30 instead of using the gravel north.
Brehm said he also had requests for dust control for an area between 280th Street and 290th Street where an ATV track is being considered.
County road workers have been working on Highway D65 where a box culvert has been placed. Dirt work and guard rails are being taken care of.
Claims for the past week came to $506,651.86
