WAVERLY - Paige Van Dyk, who just completed her sophomore year at South Tama High School, was the 14-15 age division champion at the Iowa Women's Golf Association Girls Junior Championships.
Van Dyk finished with a two-day total of 152 at Centennial Oaks Golf Club. She shot a 3-over 75 on the second day, which included a birdie and 15 pars. Van Dyk was 22 strokes ahead of the second-place finisher. Her 152 total was the best 36-hole score of any girl competitor in any age group.
Taylor Van Dyk of Tama tied for fifth in the 16-18 girls division after shooting 82 on the first day and 78 on the second day for a 160 total. Taylor's final round had 12 pars.
The IWGA has also released its Ann Griffel Scholarship recipients and one of the six from across the state was Taylor Van Dyk, a 2012 South Tama graduate.
