Randolph Larry Papakee Jr., 36, rural Tama, entered a written guilty plea to charges of assault with intent to inflict serious injury and assault with a dangerous weapon.

He was sentenced to serve 180 days at the Bureau of Indian Affairs Facility in South Dakota where he is already serving a sentence handed down for probation violation in Sac and Fox Tribe of the Mississippi in Iowa Tribal Court. Both sentences are to be served concurrently.

Papakee was also fined and assessed surcharges totaling $1,688.

He was charged on Feb. 19 for assaulting a victim with a liquor bottle by Meskwaki Nation Tribal Police Officer Mark Bear. The location of the incident does not appear in court records.

Norman David Dunning, 70, Belle Plaine, entered a written guilty plea to 1st offense drunken driving. He was fined $1,250 and assessed a $438 surcharge of which one-half of both were waived. He was also sentenced to two days in jail but can instead enroll in a weekend OWI program and complete a 12-hour drinking drivers school in lieu of jail time.

Dunning was charged in the 200 block of Irish Street in Chelsea on Nov. 5, 2011, by Tama County Deputy Sheriff Trevor Killian.

Curtis Verle Meggers, 30, Traer, entered a written guilty plea to a charge of driving while revoked. He was ordered to spend 90 days in custody in the 321J Program in Waterloo. A suspended, fine and surcharge totaling $1,350 was also assessed Meggers.

The sentences is to be served concurrently with drunken driving sentences imposed in black Hawk and Buchanan counties.

Meggers was charged for driving while his license was revoked in the 100 block of Levering Street in Traer on Jan. 2 by Tama county Deputy Sheriff Trevor Killian.

Brandon Paul Svoboda, 19, rural Clutier, admitted violation of terms of his probation. He was sentenced to 48 hours in jail and will be discharged from probation upon completion of the jail time.Svoboda received a deferred judgement for 1st offense drunken driving ion April 21, 2011.

He was convicted in a trial for possession of alcohol under the legal age in Bremer County on March 2 resulting the probation violation charge
