The South Tama School Board met in special session Thursday afternoon, May 24, to discuss negotiated contracts. Present were chairman Michelle Yuska, Anne Michael and Mark McFate. Ron Hala and Jackie Dvorak were absent.

Board members agreed there will be no increase to the base salary or benefits package for certified staff.

Eligible certified staff will be allowed to move or "age" on the existing salary schedule based on their individual experience and credits earned. Additionally, the board agrees to adjust the contract from 192 work days to 189 work days.

This change will not affect the student days, only the professional development days of teachers.

There will be no increase to the base salary or benefits for administration or support staff. The Board authorizes issuing two year contracts for administrators. Eligible support staff will be allowed to move or "age" on the existing salary schedule based on their individual experience and credits earned.

Board members voted 3-0 for this contract.
