South Tama Middle School's seventh grade girls track and field team ended the season on a victory Friday.
The Trojans beat seven schools to win the North Iowa Cedar League West title. The opposing schools were AGWSR, BCLUW, East Marshall, Gladbrook-Reinbeck, Grundy Center, South Hardin and West Marshall.
STC won three events, placed second in four and seven others had top four performances. The lone individual champion was Heavan Berinobis in the 200-meter dash. The 4x200-meter relay team of Lexi Dreesman, Berinobis, Lauren Yuska and Courtney Anderson and the 4x800-meter relay team of Yuska, Berinobis, Jensen Vodochodsky and Raena Lasley both won their respective relays.
Finishing second at the meet were Vodoschodsky (1,500-meter run), Allison Yuska (100-meter hurdles), Jordyn Thompson (200-meter hurdles) and the shuttle hurdle relay team of Allison Yuska, Megan Skyberg, Thompson and Lauren Yuska. Placing third in their events were Anderson (400-meter dash), Vodochodsky (800-meter run) and the 4x100-meter relay team of Ashley Thomazin, Shae Slaven, Alana Neave and Dreesman.
Several STC girls finished fourth. Those were Lasley (1,500-meter run and 800 run), distance medley relay team (Ariana Davenport, Shayla Peshel, McKenna Knock and Carina Chavariia) and the sprint medley relay team (Sabrina Holtz, Ellie Cervantes, Minnie Climer and Kaitlin Berger). Thompson also finished sixth in the 400-meter dash.
