South Tama, Meskwaki High graduations are this weekend

A total of 82 seniors are scheduled to graduate from South Tama High School on Sunday, May 20. On Saturday, May 19, a total of 12 seniors will graduate from Meskwaki High School.

Graduation ceremonies begin at 2 p.m. Sunday at the STC?High School Gymnasium, 1715 Harding, Tama.

A special section of The Chronicle included today features the South Tama Class of 2012.

The faculty speaker chosen by the students is retired teacher Jerry Bisher. Class speakers are Brandon Doyle and Melissa Peters.

Presentation of awards and the Class of 2012 will be by Roy Frakes, high school principal.

South Tama Superintendent Kerri Nelson will confer the diplomas, Assistant Principal Jim Plantz will announce the graduates and members of the South Tama School Board will present the diplomas.

The STC?Class of 2012 Motto is "You have brains in your head. You have feet in your shoes. You can steer yourself in any direction you choose. You're on your own. And you know what you know. And you are the one who'll decide where to go." - Dr. Seuss. Class colors are blue and black and the class flower is the spider mum.

The Class Song is "Tattoos on this Town."

Teaching staff representatives selected by students are- Elementary- Lynne Clancy, Middle School- Kevin Walker and High School- Dan Lopez.

Class of 2012 representatives are Eric Rodriguez, Jenn Maus, Samantha Frundle, Katelyn Behounek and Brandon Nelson.

Meskwaki High School

The graduation exercises for Meskwaki High School are at 2 p.m. on Saturday at the Meskwaki Gymnasium, 1610 305th St.

The guest speakers are faculty members Todd Dale and Camara Cosgrove.

Paige Brown is the class representative.

The Meskwaki High School Class of 2012 Motto is "Twelve of '12" symbolizing the 12 seniors graduating in 2012.

The Class flower is the Tropical hibiscus - "a symbol of delicate beauty, old royalty, and gentleness. If you present a tropical hibiscus to someone it is a wish for a nice summer.

The Class Song is Machine Gun Kelly "End of the Road" and the Class Mascot is Running Turtles.

Members of the Meskwaki High School Class of 2012 are Paige Brown, Deontre Butts, Dakota Ducheneaux, Muranda Kapayou, Oriannon Keahna, Denness Mauskemo, Alexah Morgan, Gailey Morgan, Meranda Morgan, Winston Wolf, Craig Youngbear Jr. and Hunter Youngbear.
