Local veterans stories in a mobile video exhibit are currently on display at the Louise and Lucile Hink Tama Public Library. It is part of the collection from the Grout Museum in Waterloo.

Don Wanatee and Inga Schminke are Tama's hometown heroes featured on the hometown heroes' display.

"On the Home Front" shows how Iowans supported veterans while serving in combat areas from the Civil War to the present conflict in the Middle East.

"I Was There" is a selection from interviews with Iowans whose service was at famous settings Pearl Harbor, D-Day, Iwo Jima and incidents during the conflicts in Korea, Vietnam and Iraq and Afghanistan.

"From Horse Power to Tractor Power" includes excerpts from our latest oral history project, the collection of interviews with farmers whose farms have been in the family for extended periods of time.

The selection panel has eight buttons that are used by patrons to view the content. It is a "self service" unit.
