As many of you know, the Tama County shooting range located west of Tama/Toledo known as the Ike's Tract, was recently closed on a temporary basis. I have received a number of inquiries from individuals regarding the future of this range.
The future of the range will be a topic of discussion at the upcoming Tama County Conservation Board meeting scheduled for 7 p.m. Wednesday, May 2, at the Otter Creek Lake Nature Center.
Anyone interested in commenting on the range and its future should plan on attending the meeting. The range has experienced a number of improper uses recently which has led to its closure. Anyone attending the meeting is welcome to share any thoughts and ideas regarding the future management of this range.
