Blaze guts Tama home

A raging fire which broke out just before 5 p.m. Wednesday, April 11, heavily damaged a Tama family's home, but there were no injuries according to Tama Fire Chief Rod Anderson.Two family members who were at home at the time were able to escape he said.

The home was occupied by the Michael and Beth Krause family according to Tama Police.

The two-story, frame home is located at 501 State St. (U.S. Highway 63) just north of the downtown Tama business district.

Fire Chief Anderson said the State Fire Marshal's Office has been asked to investigate to determine a cause.
