Several weeks ago I wrote a letter to the editor highlighting how Marshall County Senator Sodders had been falsely claiming to represent Tama County as State Senator when in fact he's never been elected to any office representing Tama County. Senator Tim Kapucian is the Senator for Tama County. Now, in articles appearing in the Tama News Herald on Thursday, March 8, and in the Times Republican on March 5, and perhaps other area papers, this Democrat senator is falsely claiming that his campaign stops are being organized with help from the Tama County Economic Development Commission.
I checked with the TCEDC leadership and they certainly had not helped organize his campaign event, nor would they commit such an ethical lapse. Sodders also made a similar claim in the LaPorte City Progress Review, claiming that the LPC Economic Development Commission organized his campaign stop there, which the LPC representative stated clearly that they had not .
Clearly, Sodders has a problem with this kind of unethical behavior where he represents things that are clearly false, this time using the name of the various Economic Development Commissions to give his campaign stops an air of legitimacy that he doesn't have.
At a campaign stop recently in Gladbrook he had a grand total of one attendee, so there is no doubt that Sodders is getting desperaate for attention. His 2008 campaign was marred with bitter attacks and false claims, his unethical behavior is obviously continuing inth this election cycle.
Our Senate district deserves better than this, and that is precisely why I am supporting Jane Jech for the Iowa Senate in 2012 Primary and General elections. Her last name is Czech, so it's pronounced Yeck, so think "Check Jech". Jane has been working long and hard since the spring of 2011 to get to know the voters in our district. Many of us have met her at the dozens of events she's attended here already as she works to get to know the voters. Jane Jech is an enthusiastic, hardworking, and honest person that deserves our support and our vote. On June 5 and November 6, please join me and "Check Jech" for Iowa Senate.
