Four STC players receive NICL all-conference honors

Four members of the NICL West?champion South Tama varsity girls basketball team garnered honors on the all-conference team which was announced last week. The Trojans (13-1, 21-3) were North Iowa Cedar League West champions for the second year in a row.

STC?senior Madison Baier was also named the outstanding conference player for the 2011-12 season. Baier was a unanimous 1st team selection.

Kendra Bradley also earned 1st team honors and Kourtne Smith was named to the all-conference second team. Both are seniors.

STC?junior Jade Rohach received honorable mention.

Seven players were named to both the 1st and 2nd teams and eight players received honorable mention.

Among other players recognized were:

1st team-Paige Thompson, Gladbrook-Reinbeck, Abbie Neuse, East Marshall, Samantha Meyers and Heather Hook, Grundy Center and McKenzie Shipley, West Marshall.

2nd team-Addie Kickbush, Gladbrook-Reinbeck, Chelsea Whitmore, East Marshall, Courtney Amundson, BCLUW, Sarah Frisch, Grundy Center, Alana Mairs, South Hardin and McKenna Hotopp, West Marshall.

Honorable mention-Jenna Roeding, Gladbrook-Reinbeck, Alyssa Whitmore, East Marshall, Jayne Wiarda, AGWSR, Danielle Montgomery, BCLUW, Sarah Johns, Grundy Center, Kayla Prosser, South Hardin and Hailee Halverson, West Marshall.
