Flags to half staff for a singer?
As a United States Marine who served 2 1 + months in Vietnam in 1967 and 1968 and a lifetime member of the Veterans of Foreign War and the American Legion, the American flag and all it represents, is special to me.
When I heard the Governor of New Jersey ordered the flags to half staff for the death of a singer, I could not believe it. Young Americans have died and continue to die, for our protection and freedom, and the flag is lowered usually on the day of the funeral. That is the only recognition the public may give them. Let's maintain that one honor for our real hero's, not singers, actors, or whatever.
