David Nelson "Sky" King died suddenly Feb. 1, 2012, at his home in Springboro, Ohio. He was born Sept. 9, 1943, in Marshalltown to Dorothy (Beem) and Nelson King. He was raised in Toledo along with his sister, Sarah Jane. He graduated from Toledo High School in 1962.
Along with school activities, including basketball and chorus, he mowed lawns and worked at his family's John Deere implement store. He continued his education at Coe College in Cedar Rapids, graduating with a B. A. in Business. He was a member of Lambda Chi Alpha fraternity and was introduced to his future wife Betty, by his friend and fraternity brother Tom Martin.
David had a long sales career in the optical industry which spanned many territories across the country. He was a member of the Covenant Presbyterian Church of Springboro and for a time served as its Choral Director.

He is survived by his wife Betty, daughter Caroline Sarah (Eric) Vermander. Vancouver, BC, son David Martin King. Portland, Ore., and sister Sarah Jane (Hal) Dvorin. Palatine, Ill.
