South Tama will be facing off against traditional rival Grinnell and some other old foes in the 2012 and 2013 football seasons.
The Trojans focus shifts from east to west in the realignments released on Jan. 17 by the Iowa High School Athletic Association. Schools are assigned to districts for two-year periods.
Some familiar other squads are also on the schedule in Class 3A District 4 including Saydel, Newton and Boone.
Rounding out the district line-up are Ballard and Dallas Center-Grimes.
In 2010 and 2011, STC, in 3A District 6, played Saydel, Vinton, Solon, Benton Community, Clear Creek-Amana, Mount Vernon, Williamsburg, Washington and Grinnell.
The time-place schedule for 2012 will be released in February.
The Meskwaki Warriors were assigned to Eight Man District 5 in football for 2012 and 2013 also announced last week by the Iowa High School Athletic Association. There are 70 Iowa high schools now playing in the Eight Man division.
Other District 5 members will include Harmony (Farmington), HLV, Melcher-Dallas, Moravia, Seymour, Tri-County (Thornberg), Twin Cedars (Busey) and Wayne.
The Warriors also played Harmony, Moravia, Melcher-Dallas, Twin Cedars and Seymour in 2011.
Other schools on last years schedule included Preston, Central City, Midland Wyoming and Grandview Park Bapist (Des Moines).
