Lesty M. Davis, 93, of Toledo, passed away Saturday, January 21, 2012 at Carrington Place of Toledo under the care of Iowa River Hospice. Funeral Services will be held Wednesday, January 25, 2012 at 11:00 AM at Kruse-Phillips Funeral Home in Tama. Interment will follow at Woodlawn Cemetery in Toledo. Visitation will be held Tuesday, January 24 from 5-8 PM at Kruse-Phillips Funeral Home in Tama.
Lesty was born on January 8, 1919, in Jamestown, North Dakota, the daughter of Herman and Lesty (Hullinger) Klusman.
She graduated from High School in Davis City, Iowa and got her teaching degree from Simpson College in Indianola.

On January 29, 1944, she was united in marriage to Eddy Davis in Gladbrook, Iowa. Lesty taught at different country schools until her husband got back from World War II. Then they farmed in New Hartford for a couple of years before purchasing a farm northeast of Toledo.
Lesty was a member of the Red Hat Society, Farm Bureau Choir, and Sweet Adelines. She was on the Turner Cemetery Board. In her spare time, she enjoyed sewing, knitting and crocheting.
Preceding her in death were her parents; her husband, Eddy on November 27, 1997; one daughter-in-law, Jolene; and six brothers, Ollie, Vern, Alvin, and Bill Klusman, and Jim and Jack Hill.
Survivors include four sons, Steve Davis of St. Francis, MN, William (Laura) Davis of Toledo; Garry (Suzanne) Davis of Whitefish Bay, WI and Scott (Cindy) of Camden, SC; nine grandchildren; two sisters, Dorothy Sparks of Princeton, MO, and Jean Simpson of Bondurant; and many nieces and nephews.
A memorial fund has been established.
