The Community Foundation of Northeast Iowa will award more than $150,000 in scholarships to area high school graduates this spring and some of those awards will be available to students in Tama County. Specifically, the Darrell & Maxine Karr Scholarship and the Betty Clauer Ketter Scholarship are available to North Tama students; the Marguerite Miller Scholarship is available to Native American students from South Tama High School; and the Dort and Ron Mastain Education Scholarship, is available to students of Gladbrook-Reinbeck Community School.

Students attending accredited high schools in Tama County are invited to visit the Community Foundation's website at www.cfneia.org to view available scholarships and complete the application form.

Submission requirements include: application form, one-page essay, official transcript, and a letter of recommendation. Students should read the scholarship descriptions carefully to determine eligibility requirements and guidelines for each award. Students must visit the Community Foundation's website for instructions and to begin the application process.

Applications are due March 2, 2012 (postmark deadline). Scholarships may be mailed to the Community Foundation at PO Box 1176, Waterloo, IA 50704.
