Letter to the Editor,
I would like to comment on Dave Svoboda's letter. I thank him for putting it in and would like to add to it.
The Nativity set was orignally built by long time resident Ludwig Dostal and painted by his wife, Reva, for their neighbor Karen Skala. Karen displayed the scene many years just north of town on Highway 63 but when it became difficult for Karen to put up she donated it to the Toledo Fire Department with stipulation it was to be set up each year along the highway.
Last year when it was not put up many people inquired and found it was in need of a facelift.
I too want to thank LaRae Little for not only painting it but adding many accents to bring the scene to life.
Ludwig and Reva are my parents and they are very grateful along with Karen that the Nativity is back up for all those passing thru Toledo to enjoy. I am proud to be part of a community that still knows the meaning of Christmas.
