Downtown Tama is getting another retail boost. Don and Mert Rank have transformed their building, the former Ben Franklin, into the 2nd Hand Store. It features 10 or more vendors in 6,000-plus feet of floor space at 200 W. 3rd St.
They are hosting an open house this Saturday, Nov. 12, from 9 a.m. -3 p.m. with lunch at a special price from 11 a.m.-1 p.m.
There will be "something for everyone" as the Ranks have signed up local and area persons who will have a wide variety of merchandise for sale.

The 2nd Hand Store will be open every Friday and Saturday from 9 a.m.-3 p.m.
There's an array of antiques and collectibles including primitives, household goods along with some furniture. You'll find jewelry, a gold and silver buyer, vintage and modern collectible toys and kitchen wares.
Decorator items, a selection of used tools and arts and crafts are also featured.

While the main showroom is filling up, the Ranks say there is still room for additional displays so there will always be some surprises among the merchandise available.
