In the first round of 1A regional volleyball, the Meskwaki Warriors lost to the GMG Wolverines, but it was a hard fought battle that went the full five sets.
In the first game Meskwaki took the lead early outscoring GMG 6-3 but the Wolverines caught up and took the over that lead in the second round of serves beating the Warriors 25-22.
The second game saw Meskwaki behind 11-10 when Kadyn Clark came up to serve. Scoring eight points straight, the Warriors took over the lead 18-11 before giving the ball back to GMG. Though GMG tried to catch up, the warriors won 25-23.

In the third set, the Warriors simply ran away with the score leaving the Wolverines wondering what happened. Scoring four points off serves by both Hunter YoungBear and Muranda Kapayou the Warriors went up 2-1 over GMG with a score of 25-13.
The fourth game saw a complete reverse of the previous match with GMG scoring seven points off serves by Macy Wilts. Making it a 2-2 match GMG won 25-16.
The fifth and final game started out with both teams struggling to get ahead of the other. With the score at Warriors 7, Wolverines 9 GMG got the side out making it 7-10 and that's when the Wolverine's libero, Taylor Kunch went on a 5 point kill streak giving them the game and the match.

Muranda Kapayou: 3 aces, 4 kills.
Jaden Davenport: 3 aces, 1 dig
Jaylynn Bear: 1 ace, 3 kills, 4 assists.
