Homecoming week continues for STC High

NEW PARADE ROUTE- THURSDAY NIGHT START TIME- TAMA NEWS-HERALD- Homecoming activities for South Tama High School get in high gear today.

The inaugural evening Homecoming parade starts at 6:30 p.m. tonight (Thursday) along Business Route 30 in Toledo and follows Broadway and McClellan Street to Tama’s Oak Part at 17th Street.

Coronation of the Homecoming King and Queen follows at 7:30 p.m. at South Tama High School.

On Friday, Sept. 30, a Homecoming Picnic will be held from 11:30 a.m. - 1 p.m. on the practice football field west of the high school.

The pep rally will take place from 1 - 2 p.m. followed by Powderpuff Football and Volleyball also on the practice field.

The South Tama football team will take on the Solon Spartans on Trojan Field in Toledo Friday night.

The Homecoming Dance will be Saturday night from 8-11 p.m. in the high school gym.

STC Elementary Boosters and Friends of the Middle School will be selling Rube’s hamburgers and steak burgers at the STC Homecoming football games on Friday, Sept. 30, starting at 5 p. m.

Burgers will be available during both the freshman and varsity games. Also available for purchase will be boxes of frozen Rube’s steak sandwiches.

All money raised will be used to support the students and staff at the elementary and middle school.

Both groups exist to help provide educational opportunities to students that encourage success and complement the district’s goals.

Tama County Cattlemen will be assisting with the grilling.

King and Queen for South Tama Homecoming 2011 will be crowned Thursday nigth at the High School gym in a coronation ceremony beginning at 7:30 p.m.
