David was born March 19, 1969, in Iowa City, the son of Dwight David Walker and Barbara Bennett. David was a 1987 graduate of City High School and a 1994 graduate of the University of Iowa. In 1997 he received his Juris Doctorate from the College of Law at the University of Iowa.
David was an Assistant County Attorney in Tama County, and prior to that had been an Assistant Attorney for Marshall County.
David was an avid Hawkeye Football fan. He enjoyed politics and time spent golfing with friends. David was instrumental in developing the Drug Endangered Children’s Task Force in Marshall County.
David was a good friend to many people and always fought for those less fortunate. He was easy-going and couldn’t talk without using his hands. He had a dry sense of humor which kept people guessing and laughing. Most important was that David’s heart was full of love for his family and friends. He will be greatly missed.
David is survived by his parents, Barbara Bennett and Dwight David Walker, both of Iowa City; five siblings, Wendy Walker of Iowa City, Becky (Maxwell) Brusky of North Aurora, IL, Steven Bennett of Iowa City; Josh (Sandra) Walker of Columbia, MO and Joy Walker of Philadelphia; nieces and nephews, Austin Bell, Henry and Claudia Brusky and Emily Walker.
David was preceded in death by his grandparents.
