TAMA NEWS-HERALD- MARSHALLTOWN – Several personnel matters came before the Iowa Valley Community College District (IVCCD) Board of Directors this month, including the hiring of custodial/maintenance employees, the termination of a faculty contract, and several personnel policy changes.
Chris Duree, IVCCD Chancellor, noted that the District has moved away from contracted custodial / maintenance services to improve services and gain cost efficiency, and has hired its own plant services staff. Most of the new employees have been hired under the direction of Brett Purvis, Director of Plant Services, but a few more positions remain to be filled. Dr. Duree noted that, so far, the projected budget savings are right on track.
