To the Editor:
As you know the Toledo area endured quite a storm recently. And it left the trees with a lot of damage and the city with quite a mess.
I know a lot of residents were left with a lot of expense but the City and the power companies are doing their part to clean things up. But the residents could do more to help them out.
The streets and curb areas are a mess and it wouldn’t take that much of an effort on the home owners part to sweep up the curb areas and either haul it away, burn it, or leave it in a pile for the city to pick up.
But if the street sweeper tries to pick it up the way it is it will be plugged or full to capacity every other block. Not to mention the drains are going to be plugged if we get a rain.
People have worked hard to clean up their own properties but as I walk around town I see how little has been done to help the city out by cleaning up the streets by home owners or renters.
I wonder do people have so little pride in their community. Lets give them a hand.
