Floyd was born on May 23, 1917, in Chelsea, the son of William and Josie (Hladky) Dolash.
He attended country school.
On Feb. 5, 1948, he was united in marriage to Dorothy Houska in Elberon, Iowa. Floyd was a masonry contractor in the Tama and Toledo area his entire working career. He was well known as Toledo and Tama’s dog catcher for over twenty-five years. Floyd enjoyed visiting with friends at the Farmers Market and Hardee’s in Toledo.
Preceding him in death were his parents; his wife, Dorothy in 1999; and a brother, William.
Survivors include his daughter, Jean (Stan) Farmer of Marion; two grandchildren, Stacy (Tony) Sablan of Firebaugh, CA and Shane Farmer of Cedar Falls; three great-grandchildren, Ella, Elias and Edward Sablan of Firebaugh, CA.
Memorials may be directed to the Toledo Fire Department or a charity of choice.
