Ronald Lester Musel

Ronald Lester Musel, 76, Cedar Rapids, died Wednesday, July 20, 2011, at Mercy Medical Center after a sudden illness. Services will be at10 a.m., Saturday, July 23, at St. Patrick Catholic Church, CEDAR RAPIDS, by the Rev. Ivan Nienhaus. Burial: 1:30 p.m., St. Joseph Cemetery, Chelsea. A Rosary will be held at 7:30 p.m., Friday at the Teahen Funeral Home where friends may call Friday from 4 to 8 p.m. and at the church Saturday after 9 a.m.

Ronald is survived by his wife Dorothy; six children, Danita (Brad) Beier of Austin, Texas, Diane (Roger) Wilson of Independence, Deborah (Andrew) Adams of Bellflower, California, Darin (Mary) Musel of Maquoketa, Denise (Douglas) Anderson of Eau Claire, Wisconsin, and Rosanne (Allan) Pape of Austin, Texas; seventeen grandchildren and eight great grandchildren; two sisters, Dorothy (Don) Martens of Tama and Audrey (Nicholas) Beuter of Iowa City; and a brother, Craig Musel of Chelsea.

Ronald was preceded in death by his parents and an infant son Allen.

Ron was born Dec. 10, 1936 in Tama County the son of Joseph and Elsie Musel. He married Dorothy Behaunekon Jan. 17, 1959 in Chelsea. Ronald worked for many years at Kelty Radiator Company and was a member of St. Patrick Catholic Church.

Ron loved fishing with his grandchildren, working in his garden, creating a variety of items in his woodworking shop, and taking time to play with his cat.
