Edith was born on April 11, 1916, in Otter Creek Township Northeast of Toledo, the daughter of Henry and Mary (Pennell) Brandt.
She attended Carroll #9 country school.
Edith married Sheldon Albright and they later divorced. On June 24, 1956, she was united in marriage to Charles Zhorne. She worked in area homes and during World War II worked at Timken Roller Bearing in Ohio. Edith then worked for IE for twenty six years and retired in 1978. She enjoyed dancing in her younger years and liked watching birds. Her greatest enjoyment was being with her family and she looked forward to calls from her family and friends. Edith was a member of St. John Lutheran Church in rural Tama.
Preceding her in death were her parents; her husband, Charles in 1986; her siblings, Bertrum Brandt, Beatrice McCollister, Mildred Backen, Carl Brandt and Albert Brandt.
Survivors include her son, Leonard (Kathy) Albright of Tama; three grandchildren, Rachelle (Jason Beauregard) Albright, Tamra Albright and Kimberly Ungs; six great-grandchildren, Levi, Lexi, Sarah, Kenna, Tyler and Caden; and several nieces and nephews.
A memorial fund has been established.
