TOLEDO CHRONICLE - Come one and all to the Toledo Public Library summer reading program -One World, Many Stories!

Librarians Brenda Wanatee and Sheri McFate are anxiously awaiting to sign up your kids for this fun-filled summer event - “One World, Many Stories!”

Parents, do you want your kids to continue reading and keep up those reading skills throughout the summer?

What better way to do it than having them join their friends at the weekly programs and read at their own pace throughout the summer? It is a winning situation.

This year parents/guardians can choose which day their child would like, Monday or Tuesday beginning Monday, July 11 and 12 and ending August 1 and 2 from 1 – 2:30 p.m.

The four weekly educational & action-packed programs look like this:

•July 11 and 12 – “Up-Up and Away, Pack Light as we Take to the Skies”

•July 18 and 19 – “Safari so Good, Bring your binoculars as we enter the Wild”

July 25 and 26 – “Away we Go, Grab your camera as we hit the Road”

Aug. 1 and 2 – “Bon Voyage, Put on your glasses and sunscreen as we set sail” .

Get your kids signed up now. Space is limited.

Visit the library or go to www.toledo.lib.ia.us and find the registration form under the summer reading tab.

The library is sponsoring a teen reading program, One World, Many Stories - You are Here! Teens will sign up at the library and make a goal of how many pages they want to read during the summer, when they hit their goal, they will fill out a card and drop that card into our drawing for two tickets to Adventureland.

So the more goals they set, the more cards they can turn in and more chances to win. We want to see your teens this summer.

For an extra bonus this year, the library will be hosting Carol & the Gang.

Carol Taylor, puppet storyteller, along with her loveable pals Dimwit the Elf, Boadicea Bee, Captain Scum and many more will be here to entertain us.

Mark your calendar for Tuesday, July 12, at 2:30 p.m.

This program is free and open to the public. No sign up is required for this event.
