The contest was to create an original design that could be used as a logo for the Friends of STCMS.
Art teacher La Rae Little helped coordinate the contest and collected entries.
All middle school students were eligible and encouraged to participate. Some 10 students submitted drawings for the contest.
The Friends of STCMS board members carefully considered each of the designs and were impressed with the creativity of the entries. Shae Slaven’s design of a pale yellow sun with handprints as the sun’s rays was voted as the winner.
The Friends of STCMS thought the design represented their organization well and they are excited to use the design as their logo.
Slaven, daughter of Steve and Sally Slaven, Chelsea, was presented with a $50 prize as the contest winner. Shae seemed surprised and was quite humble about her win
