TOLEDO CHRONICLE - South Tama School Board members approved a 2.63 percent increase in administrative salary base pay and other benefits at a special meeting on Friday, May 27.
Support staff groups have been meeting with the administration and discussing salary and employment issues for the next school year.
A support staff salary increase of 2.63 percent has been agreed upon.
New staff members hired, transfers and resignations accepted included:
•Linda Moser for high school math, $38,551 plus a $5,000 hiring bonus.
•Nathan Doran, high school special education, $31,433.
•Lindsey Yanecek, dance team sponsor, $2147.
•Troy Wanatee, middle school Title VII, hourly $9.16 for seven hours daily.
•Heather Garrett from 2nd grade to 4th grade elementary teacher.
•Derek Kemper resigned as assistant varsity boys basketball coach, effective May 23.
Christina Helmer as elementary special education effective the end of the school year.
Last week information given to the board of education regarding the high school dishwasher bids was incorrect. Upon closer scrutiny, it was found that for two of the vendors the vent hoods were listed as “optional”, rather than included in the base price. The bids came in Rapids Foodservice at $17,509. Bolton & Hay bid was $17,503 and Martin Brothers at $16,7450.
None of these vendors had been contacted after the Board meeting by the time the error was discovered.
