A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, June 2, at St. Henry’s Catholic Church in Marshalltown with Fr. Don Czapla as celebrant. He will be laid to rest in St. Patrick’s Cemetery at Tama. Visitation will be held from 5-7 p.m. Wednesday at St. Henry’s with a 7 p.m. vigil service. Born on April 5, 1926, in Tama County, Iowa, he was the son of George and Anna (Mihulka) Dolash. He graduated from the Tama High School’s Class of 1943.
On Nov. 25, 1950, he was united in marriage to Ruth Leik in Dubuque. Dale was employed with Wright Tree Service until 1967 and retired from Marshall County REC after 25 years. He was a member of the Eagles in Tama, Izaak Walton League and St. Henry’s Catholic Church.
Dale will be fondly remembered for his sense of humor, love of baseball- whether playing or watching, hunting, fishing, gardening and time spent with family as the most important. He will be greatly missed by many.
Left to cherish his memory are Ruth, his loving wife of 60 years, his children: Pat (Joe) Fuchs, Eldora, Annie Dolash, Sigourney, Dale (Suzanne) Dolash, Holden, Mo., Sherry Dolash (Garry Hauser), Iowa City, Mark (Shelby) Dolash, Ferguson and Rick Dolash (Kim Stephen), Marshalltown, grandchildren- Angie Ramer, Bret Woodman, Melanie McAnulty, Eric Dolash, Zak Dolash, Jake Dolash, Briley Dolash, Tegan Hauser, Sage Dolash-Hauser, Bridget Dolash, Rachel Burgess, Courtney Degner, Teresa Dolash and Kelsey Dolash, 14 great grandchildren and his sisters- Grace Brandt and Jeannie Kriegel both of Tama.
In death, Dale rejoined his parents and siblings: Leo and Rex Dolash, Mary Gail Bailey and Merle in infancy.*
