STC Superintendent recognizes student achievement

May 26, 2011
Toledo Chronicle, Tama News-Herald
Letter to the Editor:

As the Superintendent and the Vice President of the Toledo-Tama Kiwanis, it was an absolute pleasure to be able to host the Kiwanis Senior Awards and Fine Arts Banquet at our High School. It was great to see our students recognized for their academic accomplishments and talents. I could not help but notice that many of the students who were recognized that evening are also involved in many other student clubs and athletics. It takes great commitment on the part of our students to take challenging courses and maintain their involvement in so many other areas.

STC High School students have demonstrated an increase in academic achievement in reading and math for the second year in a row.

STC High School students have competed at state level competition in multiple sports areas and fine arts areas.

STC High School students have demonstrated excellent character and have reduced the overall number of behavioral referrals to the office.

Thank you for coming out to support and recognize our students. They work hard and deserve recognition for their accomplishments.

Kerri Nelson
