A funeral Mass will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, May 21, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Manly, with Monsignor John W. Hemann as Celebrant. Burial will follow in the Sacred Heart Catholic Cemetery, Manly.
Visitation will be held Friday evening (May 20, 2011) from 5-7 p.m. at Bride Colonial Chapel, 110 E. Spring St., Manly where a Scriptural Wake service will be held at 6:30 p.m.
Should friends desire, memorials may be left to the Truman W. Warner, Sr. Memorial Fund.
Truman William Warner was born on June 16, 1916, in Lineville, Iowa the son of George Warner, Jr. and Almeda (Elston) Warner. He was raised in southern Iowa.
On Oct. 15, 1938 Truman was united in marriage to Dorothy Arlene Leslie in Mason City; this union would be blessed with 5 children.
For nearly 15 years Truman worked for National By Products Rendering Plant in Mason City. He would also work for many other packinghouses in various states before his retirement.
In his younger years Truman enjoyed woodworking, fishing, coon hunting, playing cards and Cribbage, gardening and traveling.
Those grateful in sharing in Truman's life is his wife, Dorothy, Marshalltown; children, Sharol Jean Cain, Albuquerque, N.M., Truman W, Warner, Jr., Toledo, David E. Warner, Pine River, Minn., and Carol A. Warner, Gardner, Kan..; 19 grandchildren; 51 great grandchildren; 14 great great grandchildren; and many cousins, nieces, nephews and friends.
Preceding him in death are his parents; his step father; his daughter, Patty Jo McConnell; and his three brothers, Gerald, Audrey, and Floyd.
