TAMA NEWS-HERALD -A lucky South Tama High School senior attending the After Prom event Saturday night (April 30) can drive home in a new car.

For the second year in a row, a group of local business people have donated a vehicle to be awarded as one of the prizes at the event. The 2005 Chevrolet Malibu is fully road-ready and is on display at Iowa Step and Tank at West Grace and U.S. 63 in Toledo.

Mike and Mitzi Waterbury, owners of Sandhill Auto Salvage, rural Tama, donated the car which had some damage to the left rear quarter panel. Butch Kupka, Kupka Towing and Auto Body, rural Toledo, and Duane Cline Body Shop, Malcom, repaired it.

Mechanical inspection and an oil change along with oil change certificates were provided by D’s Auto, Doug Yuska and Dale Kreiss. Bear’s O.K. Tire, Tama, Steve Baier, performed tire rotation and S&S Car Wash, Toledo, detailed the car. Tama Police provided a free vehicle inspection so it can be registered and licensed.

After Prom will be held at the South Tama High School in Tama following the “An Evening in the Orient”- themed Prom at the Reinig-Toledo Civic Center.

The annual After Prom event provides a variety of activities for Prom-goers in a supervised environment and is organized by parents of South Tama High School students.
