Sexual abuse charge dismissed

A charge of assault with intent to commit sexual abuse was dismissed last week in Tama County District Court after a motion was filed by Tama County Attorney Brent Heeren.
Heeren cited insufficient evidence in the case. Harley Rene Marrujo, 21, Onalaska, Wisc. had been accused of grabbing the vaginal area of a person while at the Winding Stairs Festival area at Traer at 2 a.m. on Aug. 14, 2010.
Marrujo had entered a written innocent plea on Dec. 6. The charge was originally field by the Tama County Sheriff’s Office.
Sally Ann Brandmayr, 22, Marshalltown, pled guilty to 2nd offense drunken driving. She was fined $1,875, sentenced to 60 days in jail with 53 days suspended and placed on unsupervised probation.
Brandmayr was charged at Jiffy North on Business Route 30 in Toledo on Nov. 24 by Toledo Police Officer Brian Randall.
Antonio Leann Hernandez, 23, Tama, was fined $1,250, sentenced to 48 hours in jail and ordered to complete drinking driver’s school on March 24. She entered a written guilty plea to 1st offense drunken driving on March 11, 2010.
Hernandez was originally charged on Nov. 10, 2009, at the Pow Wow Grounds on the Meskwaki Settlement by Meskwaki Nation Tribal Police Officer Chris Knouse.
