“I’ m confident our case has been resolved,” Wilkens said. He said the case took priority and “took a lot of man-hours from the police department over the weekend.”
“We interviewed a lot of people and found the cooperation of the parents to be very supportive,” he said
He declined to provide further details of the investigation.
Wilkens said school officials had to “act on the side of caution” when the decision was made to take the students and staff to the high school gymnasium.
“At no time were the students in any danger,” he said.
In fact, he said some of the younger students only expressed disappointment they didn’t see a basketball game played while at the high school.
