Aprons Program for Historical Society

The next meeting of the Tama County Historical & Genealogical Society will be held at 7 p.m. on Wednesday, April 6, at the Museum in Toledo. The guest speaker will be Joann Neven whose program is The Evolution of an Apron, from the Beginning of Time to the Present. Ms. Neven grew up in Olewein and in 1960 earned a degree in family and consumer science. She now resides in Marshalltown where she is the County Extension Home Economist.

This program is open to the public, where Neven will discuss and show some aprons from her collection. She has invited both members and guests to bring and share their aprons that have some significant meaning for them. They can be homemade, belonged to a relative, tied to events or people in history, made of unusual fabrics, or perhaps the style is what makes it unique. You are invited to join the group for what should be an interesting and fun evening.
