Mr. Herald Chronicle referred the question to the Department of Transportation District 1 office in Ames which covers Tama County.
Tony J. Gustafson, P.E. , assistant District 1 engineer, replied: “Shoulder rumble strips were part of the project plans. The weather may have gotten to a point where the contractor was unable to finish these installations this fall and will now install them in the spring of 2011.”
