Holiday events underway Friday night

TAMA NEWS-HERALD - This Friday night, Nov. 26, a tree lighting ceremony on the Tama County Courthouse square in downtown Toledo will help “Turn Black Friday into a Bright Night” as the Tama-Toledo Area Chamber of Commerce holiday activities begin.

Santa’s Workshop provided by Spahn and Rose Lumber, Tama, with photos by Michael Adams Studio will be open from 5-7 p.m. on the square.

Cub Scouts will serve hot cocoa and cookies provided by the State Bank of Toledo beginning at 5 p.m.

Drawings for prizes will take take place every 15 minutes, a Christmas music, a special guest and the showing of the movie “Secretariat” at the Wieting round out the evening.

The Grinch was in downtown Tama Tuesday morning and will be on hand for Friday night activities in downtown Toledo with his dog “Max.”
