TOLEDO CHRONICLE -This Friday night, Nov. 26, the Tama-Toledo Area Chamber of Commerce starts the holiday season here with a bevy of entertainment and events in downtown Toledo. “Turn Black Friday into a Bright Night” is the theme with a special lighting of the Tama County Courthouse Square. Santa’s Workshop provided by Spahn and Rose Lumber opens at 5 p.m., there are drawings for prizes and cookies and cocoa will be served by Cub Scouts and provided by the state Bank of Toledo. There will be festive Christmas music and a special guest appearance. The movie Secretariat will be shown Friday-Sunday at the Wieting. Coming up on Dec. 4 and 5 are the Firefighters and EMS pancake breakfast, pictures with Santa by Michael Adams Studio and pet pictures at Pamida. Also that weekend is the annual lighted Christmas parade in downtown Toledo, a chili supper sponsored by STC Music Boosters, a movie at the Wieting sponsored by Pioneer Hybrid and more.
