Lots of choices on Tuesday

Tama News-Herald

October 28, 2010
Toledo Chronicle, Tama News-Herald
Tama County and Iowa voters have lots of choices on Tuesday. There’s three local contests featuring well qualified candidates for Courthouse posts. Voters can give Chuck Grassley a 6th term or pick Roxanne Conlin for a change in Washington. Same for Leonard Boswell. He can go back or voters can replace him with Brad Zahn. The state ticket slate is full for both parties, something that doesn’t always happen any more. The governor’s race has sparked lots of interest and lots of sparks, as well. Democrat Francis Thicke, along with Republicans Brenna Findley and David L. Jamison have actively campaigned in Tama County in their efforts to beat incumbents. Although they haven’t shown up in Tama County (yet, anyway), what looks like a crowded field for the 2012 Republican presidential nomination has brought candidates supporting candidates and putting out feelers to Iowa. President Obama has been here and Vice President Joe Biden is headed to Dubuque on Friday. If you have the urge to vote early, you can. If you have the urge to take part in the tamatoledonews.com online Poll on select races, you can for a little while yet. Watch for complete local election coverage next week in The News-Herald and online - tamatoledonews.com -J. Speer
