Toledo Library holds early out program

TOLEDO CHRONICLE - Early out program #3 at the Toledo Public Library. This group of kids enjoyed an entertaining program called No Fuss No Bake Treats on Wednesday, October 13th. They enjoyed crackers with cream cheese with the option to put on broccoli and carrots, most did either. Then we made two different snacks that are no fuss and no bake. The first was a Fall Mix and each child helped prepare it by dumping in ingredients to get the finished treat. Next was a Snack Mix that required use of the microwave. Jenny warmed almond bark in the microwave and the kids finished out the job. We then put it in the freezer to harden. When each snack was complete, the kids put their snacks into bags that they could take home and munch on or give to someone as a gift. It was fun watching them cooperate to get the completed treats. Chopped Broccoli

Cream cheese

Buttery or wheat crackers

Spread cream cheese onto cracker.

Top with broccoli and carrots.

Fall Mix

Candy corn

Caramel Corn

Chocolate cereal balls

Nuts

Mix all together and scoop out into bags and tie

Snack Mix

Crushed pretzels

Flavored marshmallows

Almond bark – any flavor

Lay marshmallows and pretzels on cookie sheet. Melt bark in microwave. Carefully pour bark over the mix and let sit till cooled. Break apart and package into cute bags and tie. Makes a yummy gift.
