The sum was raised, in part, through the generosity of customers during in-store fundraisers at all Pamida locations last month. The Foundation then matched up to $250 of each store’s proceeds.
Pamida operates a store on South County Road (U.S. Highway 63) in Toledo.
Customer donations were accepted through “pinup” and “round up” programs at store registers. The programs offered shoppers the opportunity to purchase pinups for $1 each, or round up their purchase totals to the next whole dollar with the excess money going to the back-to-school fundraiser.
“Once again, our customers have shown their dedication to education and the future of our youth. Schools have the ability to shape and inspire students in a positive way. I am happy that our customers recognize the importance of education and its impact on the well-being of our communities,” says Jessica Strohman, executive director of the Pamida Foundation. She adds, “By opening their pocketbooks for this cause, shoppers will help local schools continue their
standards of excellence. For that, the Foundation is truly grateful.”
Schools that wish to be considered for future donations are welcome to submit requests to the Pamida Foundation. Details may be found in brochures at all Pamida stores and pharmacies or at: www.pamida.com
